The last two weeks have been super busy for me at Now and for Always Photography. Between forest schools and outdoor kindergartens I have squeezed in a few location family portraiture shoots. Freelancer note-to-self: remember this feeling in January!
I met Lucy of EvieBee Hair Bows at a Freelance Mum networking event in Bristol earlier this month. (https://www.freelancemum.co.uk/) It was my first FLM, and I shall definitely be returning. The very accomplished Faye Dicker has created a wonderfully informal, yet very valuable space for networking with young children.
When we met up again in a buttercup meadow and bluebell woods near Compton Dando, she brought two charming models in tow. The wild garlic and bluebells were almost as well turned out as her impeccably styled children. Obviously, the hand made bow ties and hair bows were a feature.
One of the chidlren soon revealed himself to be a dinosaur. It was one of those idyllic shoots that makes me so happy to do my job. An hour or two playing with children in a flower meadow and bluebell woods is food for the soul.
If you pop over to Lucy's website, https://www.eviebeehairbows.com/ you can see more of my photos. You might find a bow tie or hair bow for a little one in your life too. Mine certainly loves hers.
Although, I think we have seen the last of the bluebells down here in the South West, I have a trip to Scotland with a couple of shoots planned for a few weeks’ time. I am hoping that I might catch the last of them up there.
A great aspect of my job is discovering new locations for beautiful images. Picturesque Compton Dando is firmly on my list. There is a great looking pub (no, I didn't pop in before a morning family photography job!) which might necessitate a further visit. Check it out.
